Located in Raleigh's Glenwood South Hospitality District, The Rockford has been serving the community unique and delicious sandwiches since 1994.
In 1994, The Rockford opened its doors. At the time, it was the only bar or restaurant in the now bustling district known as Glenwood South. Its lack of signage provided its patrons with a lucky discovery as they stumbled upon its inconspicuous upstairs location. Many had heard through the grapevine of the Rockford’s charming copper-top bar and its now legendary ABC (apple, bacon, cheddar) sandwich.
This immediately made the Rockford a popular neighborhood restaurant and pub in the most classic sense. At the Rockford, you will find artists, musicians and professionals rubbing elbows in the comfortable, rustic atmosphere six days a week.
In January of 2015 (the year that our sweet Rockford turns 21-years-of-age), we enlisted the talents of three area chefs to help combine our love for fresh, local product with unique and fun combinations which we can only describe as "blue collar gourmet". From the skilled hands of these three gentleman: Kyle Collins (formerly of Bia, Chatham Marketplace), Ben Kinol (formerly of Second Empire, Quality Grocery) and James Forgey (Quality Grocery), our newest menu concept was born.
All of our produce is sourced locally from the NC State Farmer's Market and we strive to provide the freshest, local, seasonally available items in each dish.

Seating at The Rockford is available on a first-come/first-serve basis. We are a casual, hip little spot and hope that you will be content enjoying a cocktail or local craft beer at our bar in the event that there is a wait for your table. What does this mean? WE DO NOT TAKE RESERVATIONS.
You are welcome to call up to 30 minutes prior to your arrival to be added to our wait list.
If your group consists of 6 or more guests, we do advise that you let us know in advance so that we are prepared for your arrival.
